International day of Nonviolence: Remember Catholic COs from FWW @ National
Oct 2 all-day

We are inviting members, supporters, parishes to hold a prayer service or similar gathering on 2 October to commemorate the lives and witness of some of the Catholic Conscientious Objectors of the First World War.

We have produced a liturgy outline that can be used, together with some of the stories of the Catholic COs of the time.

31 October – The Rev’d Canon Dr Sarah Hills on her work in Reconciliation based at Coventry Cathedral
7 November – Michael Wooldridge, Trustee of BBC Media Action, on journalism

The annual Peace Lecture will be presented by Ann Farr, a member of Pax Christi who served in the West Bank as an Ecumenical Accompanier. All welcome.

Remembrance is not Enough – Leeds event @ Mill Hill Chapel
Nov 10 @ 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

A special service of more than just Remembrance on the eve of the centenary of the ‘War to end all wars’. The guest speaker at this service will the Anglican theologian Andrew Shanks.

The Justice & Peace Commission are working with the Leeds Pax Christi Group to put on this event and prepare a special liturgy booklet that will be shared across parishes in the Leeds Diocese.

Remembrance Day Peace Event @ Friends House Euston

An event coordinated by the First World War Peace Forum.

12.30 gathering in Tavistock Square, London WC1.  A ceremony of Remembrance and Peace 100 years after the First World War.

2 – 5.00 @Friends House, drop in and meet peace activists and find out about current peace campaigns.  Cafe, live music, films, books and more…
