We thought it important to have a peace & justice  presence at the Women’s March on 21 January ( in support of similar in Washington and around the world).  Join us, as an individual or group….. we have been in contact with WILPF,  Women in Black, CND, Pax Christi members and others who all hope to join us.

Meet in the NE corner of Grosvenor Square junction of  Duke Street & Brook Street... bring suitable banners/messages.  We will be there with our large Pax Christi Feather Banner so hope you can find us!   Meet at 11.45…. process from Grosvenor Square to Trafalgar Square

Public act of repentance for preparations for Nuclear war (replacement of the Trident weapons system).  Gather on the steps of St Luke’s, the bombed church and then process through city centre. Setting off from St Luke’s at 1.00pm

Join us for our annual Ash Wednesday Service of Repentance and Resistance at the home of the UK’s weapons of mass destruction.
We will start at the car park next to the South Gate where we will mark each other with ashes and then process with the cross to the South Gate accompanied by readings, prayers and hymns. All are welcome. Meet at 3.00pm, Victoria Embankment Gardens, Whitehall Section (nearest tube Embankment ).  Between Northumberland Avenue and Horseguards Avenue.

Preparation for London gathering on 23 February, LCW, 49 Mattison Road, Harringay, London N4 between 7 – 8.30 pm

A series  organised with the Departments for Justice and Peace and Interreligious Relations

Speaker Ann Farr, a member of the Executive Committee of Pax Christi International,  will speak on her role within the Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme where she served for 3-months in the West Bank/Occupied Territories.

 GCOMS 2017 will run from 20 April  to 23 April – we hope this may give an opportunity to spread actions and events into the week-end.

A great opportunity to raise the issue of military spending – asking the question, “does it make us safer”.  Help others to think about this with a stall in your town centre or church.  Highlight the opportunities that are lost when governments spend money on the military rather than on health, education, development, climate change and more…

Bishop Kevin Dowling was elected to the Pax Christi International board in 2004 and became Co-President in 2010, bringing with him a wealth of experience in working for human rights and social justice.

Bishop Kevin will  speak on the nonviolent witness of Archbishop Oscar Romero and its message for us today. Bishop Kevin has  been present at various Romero commemorations in El Salvador and supports the work of the  Romero Trust.

Pat Gaffney has been General Secretary of Pax Christi UK since 1990. She is a member of the international working group that initiated the Catholic Nonviolence Initiative and helped facilitate the Rome Conference. She has spoken at innumerable conferences and been an outstanding contributor to peace work both here in the UK and internationally.
