A Virtual Pilgrimage to Shrine of Our Lady @ On-line from Our Lady of Hartley, Kent
May 1 @ 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm

The Shrine ranks as a Major Marian Shrine because, 100 years ago in May, Benedict XV approved a new title for Our Lady and attached indulgences to her shrine, including a Plenary Indulgence. Livestreamed gathering for hymns and prayers, ending with the 5.30pm parish Mass.

It’s not generally known that this shrine owes its recognition to Benedict XV who was impressed with the welcome given to refugees during WW1. Having been appalled by the ravages of war, he attached a plenary indulgence for those who visit and pray for peace among the nations of Europe

Phil Kerton will talk about the unusual history of the beautiful thatched church and the shrine, and Dr Anne Inman will speak on “Praying the Hail Mary – How to honour Mary without diminishing her humanity”

Key issues facing Christian peacemakers: Militarism today- challenges and responses

Join NCPO for the first of their meetings throughout May discussing some of the key issues currently facing Christian peacemakers. Each session will run twice, once in the daytime and the other in the evening of another day.

Militarism today- challenges and responses

“At a time of uncertainty, spending and investment in weapons and armed forces is growing. ‘Healthcare not warfare’, as campaigners have recently urged, challenges us to face the issues and to take action for a different type of security, for planet and people. With input from Chris Cole, of Drone Wars UK, this workshop will aim to inform and to provide a space for reflection and discussion.”
