The World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel is an annual World Council of Churches event held during the third week of September. The week is an encouragement to all of us to pray and act for all those who face the challenges of the war in Gaza and the occupation of Palestine and for all those who work for peace and justice.
For 2025, the theme is ‘We must give account’ taken from Hebrews 4:13 and you can find more details on the WCC website here

PRAYER

World Week for Peace in Palestine and Israel Leaflet
Include bidding prayers at Mass,
Hold a special vigil/service on significant dates in the next few weeks:
- September 21st International Day of Peace;
- September 29th International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People;
- Advent
Light a candle on Fridays at Sunset and pray in solidarity with those who pray each week at the Separation Wall in Bethlehem;
Fast and pray when you can, for an end to the starvation of Palestinians in Gaza. Join the Christian Aid #FastforGaza campaign
SOLIDARITY and ACTION
Arrange an event to share stories; invite a speaker; watch a film; enjoy Palestinian food; sell Palestinian produce (for example on an Advent/Christmas stall);

Support and Join groups that are working for a Just Peace in Palestine and Israel;
Contact your MP and ask them to call for
- an end to the Israeli genocide in Gaza and the full distribution of Aid to everyone in the Gaza Strip; the release of ALL hostages, Israeli and Palestinian;
- an end to the Arms Trade and all UK military cooperation with Israel;
- Israel to end to the siege on Gaza and the occupation of the West Bank.
