Education resources on Nuclear Weapons

Here is a collection of some of our resources for young people on nuclear weapons.

We have two discussion and reflection activity cards on nuclear weapons. One introduces the topic of nuclear weapons for young people and the other looks at the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons.

We have a document below that gives a very brief overview of some of the history of nuclear weapons.

Celebrate peace: A Children’s Liturgy resource to celebrate peace and the 50th country ratifying the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, which came into force on 22nd January 2021.

Nuclear Weapons and the UN Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons

This workshop introduces  key facts about nuclear weapons, some of the arguments surrounding nuclear weapons, the role of the treaty and the voice of the Catholic Church. This session is aimed at young people in Key Stage three and above, and may be useful for the GCSE themes of peace and conflict.

Nuclear Weapons
Originally produced for the 2015 UK General Election, this workshop encourages young people to think critically about what their faith has to say about the issue of nuclear weapons and how it might influence their engagement with politics.
