The theme for 2027 is Disarming Technology, Serving Peace: Politics as Preventive Responsibility in which Pope Leo will highlight the “moral responsibility of those called to act in the political sphere and encouraging humanity to promote dignity for each and every person help foster peace, beginning with the “disarming of technology.”
Peace Sunday 2026 was held on Sunday 18th January the theme was ‘Peace be with you all: Towards an ‘unarmed and disarming peace’ . Pope Leo has continued the exhortation of Pope Francis that the call to live nonviolent ‘disarmed’ lives is core to Catholic Social Teaching and the key to peace in a world scarred by violent conflict.
