We remember the devastating atomic bombing in 1945 of Hiroshima on 6th August and Nagasaki on 9th August. Now there is increasing political tension in relationships between nuclear weapons-possessing states and the work of peace is even more pressing. Pax Christi members are supporting commemoration events around the country – see the relevant Events pages here and here The Pax Christi office team, volunteers and members, will be bearing witness at a stall outside Westminster Cathedral on both days. We will engage with passing members of the public on the issue of nuclear weapons and especially the Nuclear Ban Treaty. We will spend time in prayer too. Join us if you are in central London, or look for an event where you are, or gather a few people together to mark the dates yourself. Watch a short film about peace educators being changed by their visit to Hiroshima here.
