The next Peace Education Network Skills Share Workshop will be on Thursday 14 November from 5pm – 7pm, at Friends House, Euston, London and will explore Peace Education and the Centenary of World War One
In this workshop Don Rowe, formerly Director of Curriculum Resources for the Citizenship Foundation, will introduce participants to materials being developed for both primary and secondary schools in relation to the centenary commemoration of World War One.
Don will encourage participants to explore the issues of bias (being non-partisan), how to develop student’s capacity for moral reasoning and empathy development, as well as overcoming resistance to ‘moral messages.’
For many years Don has written extensively about the issues facing teachers tackling controversial issues in the classroom and this workshop will draw upon this experience.
