Peace Education Newsletter, January 2015

Dear friends,

Pax Christi’s Peace Sunday is celebrated in parishes on 18 January. Schools are also encouraged to include themes of peace and peacemaking in their prayer and liturgy around this time. We have produced a short assembly/liturgy reflecting on Pope’s message for World Peace Day, No longer slaves, but brothers and sisters. It is available here

There is still some availability for our popular Peace Education workshops in schools this term

These make ideal revision sessions for those studying Pax Christi as part of their Religious Studies GCSE syllabus

Our workshops are available to schools across England and Wales. Contact me (education@paxchristi.org.uk) to make a booking or to discuss possibilities.

We launched our sixth form General RE peace syllabus before Christmas. Available to download for free from our website

I am giving a talk, Blessed are the Peacemakers, at 8pm on Wednesday 21 January in St Alban’s Parish Centre, Hall Street, Macclesfield SK11 8DJ. All welcome.

Wrap up Trident: mass demo in London – Saturday 24 January, 1pm at Parliament. Full details at http://www.cnduk.org/

Ash Wednesday vigil of repentance and resistance to nuclear war preparation: Wednesday 18 February at 3pm http://bit.ly/1wvSeMa

With every good wish for the new term

In peace,
Matt
