Mediterranean Town House: A Project Im-possible?
Young and future in the cradle of civilization.
An experience of dialogue, work, and study for young people aged 18-30.
The programme explores the protest movements that have started in Mediterranean and the struggle for democracy.
Participants will seek to understand this protest movement, look at the connections with the their own lives, and work towards deeper understanding of what drives the dream to build a fair society that respect people and their human rights.
The camp will also look at the fate of women’s rights after the Arab Spring in which their role was crucial.
Programme
The mornings will mostly involve work around Casa per la Pace – gardening, vegetable garden, olive grove, cleaning, and minor maintenance.
The afternoons will consist of in-depth meetings, hearing people’s stories of resistance, films and documentaries, and debates.
The camp will also include tours of the City of Florence focusing on Florence: Art and Peace
Details
Accommodation at Casa per la Pace will be in single or twin rooms, dormitory, or in tents in the grounds.
The camp costs €180 – additionally participants will have to cover their travel costs to Florence.
