The Cambridge Justice and Peace Group invites you to a “Do Justice” workshop. This follows the initiative of Caritas, the agency of the Catholic Bishops, to explore how we do justice within the parish and in the local community. The focus of this first event will be “How do we do justice in our local community in Cambridge?”
The event will take place on Tuesday 12 March at St Laurence’s Church, Milton Road, at 7.30-8.30 (tea and coffee from 7pm). Please remember to register your car in the church when you are parking there.
By way of preparation, we suggest that we each ‘look around’ at our local community.
* Where is the ‘good news’ in the community and at work?
* Where is God at work in the attitudes and projects that promote solidarity and the common good
* Likewise, where are the challenges? where are people not flourishing?
Poverty and injustice are often hidden in plain sight in our communities. Can we give examples of things that are done well at work or in our community to help those in need? Can we think of people who are missing out on support?
“…and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” (Micah 6:8)
